Back to the Navy - U.S. Navy - Best in the World

Back to sharing some of the best US Navy photos with my friends - in the world of Social Media (blogs, Facebook, & Twitter).  Of course, I'll be sharing carrier pictures with the first one featuring the very new and the very old.

USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77), left, and USS Enterprise (CVN 65) are docked at Naval Station Norfolk.

Enterprise, the Navy's oldest aircraft carrier, celebrated its 49th birthday on Thanksgiving day, and George H.W. Bush, the Navy's newest carrier was commissioned on Jan 10, 2009.

It is amazing to me to see both the new aircraft carriers shown above as well as the USS Enterprise that celebrates it's 49th birthday.  All of the carriers shown are much bigger than the USS Valley Forge that I served aboard in 1954-55 but I still have fond memories of the "Happy Valley".
